yourself! You are about to come to paradise. The emerald color
of the sea, sprinkled with hundreds of islands, and the lush
tropical vegetation of the mountains create a dazzling scenery
for walks and tours. The sea is shallow and you can cross the
sea from one island to another by foot (depending on the tides).
If
you like aquatic sports or submarine hunting you should visit
Cataguazes, Ilha Grande and Gipoia beaches, where the water
is so transparent that fishes can be seen like in the aquarium.
The
Pousada do Alemão organizes, by guest's request*,
sailing tours in the paradisiacal islands. There are 365 islands
and 2000 beaches in this region.
This locally
built schooner is owned by the
Pousada do Alemão
and can be day chartered by prior arrangement.
The sail boat
is a special point of interest, being considered one of the most
beautiful in the region. During the sailing tour a snack is
served and there are a lot of short stops to dive and to visit
the islands around.
Others tours can be ordered* optionally. Tours include the
waterfalls in the farms at the vicinities, the Municipal
Administration Building, the old style colonial houses, public
fountains, churches and convents.
The 4wd Vehicles
are used for private
expeditions up into the rain forest.
